Kanata Montessori
2018 - 2021
I having been on the supply list for KMS since 2018, I have had the pleasure of joining the grade 7 and 8s on a trip to the local skating rink, playing with the Casa students in aftercare, and everything in between. I also joined the casa students during March Break for some exciting camp adventures and headed up the Elementary summer camp experience.

As a full-time teacher I taught the junior elementary (grades 1-3) virtually through the pandemic, creating and implementing an e-curriculum ad hoc.

Forest Hill Montessori School
(now Clover school)
2017 - 2018
My time at Forest Hill Montessori School began with summer camp. During the summer months, I acted as a camp counsellor, planning and executing theme-based activities. When September rolled around I became an Assistant Teacher in a Casa (2.5-6yr) classroom. I collaborated with the teacher to support and reinforce individual learning; provided lessons appropriate to the child's progress through the Montessori curriculum and; maintained the environment and classroom materials to ensure the optimal conditions for learning.

Canadian Montessori Teacher
Education Institute
2017 - 2018
Upon completion of my final exam in the Montessori Teacher Training course, I was pleasantly surprised with an offer to work as a Master Teacher in Training - training to teach the Montessori Teacher Training course. Starting in September 2017 I have been attending classes at the institute's Markham location and assisting the trainers in their instruction. I observed the Master Trainers as they provided training in order to discover the methods and strategies currently being used in the classroom. I was also encouraged to provide advice and strategies based on my own experience in order to guide the students through the coursework. Moreover I was able to demonstrate lessons in order to teach the students proper Montessori methodology. Additionally my duties included recording attendance, marks, completion of various course elements, etc., in the electronic database to keep both the students and staff informed of the students' progress.

University of Ottawa
2018 - 2020
I am very excited to report that I have successfully completed my B.Ed. at the University of Ottawa!
Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute
2016 - 2017
I have always been fascinated with the amount of growth and development that occurs between the ages of 0 and 6. During these years, children are in a period of creation, in which they are effortfully building their selves and establishing the foundation for all of their future learning. In pursuing a Montessori Teacher Diploma I was able to learn from one of the leaders in the field - Dr. Daniel Jutras - to deepen my understanding of this process, and gain insight into how it can best be supported. Furthermore, I gained the tools necessary for facilitating children’s ability to listen to, and learn from, their respective inner teacher.

Carleton University
2011 - 2015

During my time pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) - Psychology at Carleton University, my interest in child development and education was continually validated. Through my coursework I gained an awareness of the biopsychosocial development of children and acquired knowledge and understanding of the various needs of children with and without exceptionalities. I developed a particular fascination with infant and toddler language acquisition.
